Sam Thompson, General Manager

Sam earned his BS in Chemistry at Thomas More College and then went onto obtain his Masters in Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati.  After college, Sam began working on molecular structures for a P&G partner in their “designer drugs” division.  Additionally, Sam went back to his alma mater Thomas More and worked as a Chemistry Professor.

Like many investors, he became interested in real estate investing as a passive investment he could control (unlike the stock market).  Sam acquired and rehabbed a dozen houses; some he sold, some he rented.  He quickly realized how much work it was to rent/manage properties well AND have a full time job, and life was becoming unmanageable.  He knew he needed help!

Sam began to evaluate the handful of property management companies around the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area.  After researching every company in town, and still not feeling like he could trust any of them to do a great job managing his property, Sam searched for other options.  He came across a national property management company called Real Property Management that had a very nice model that balanced affordable pricing and quality service.  RPM was approaching property management in a very systematic and orderly way and they were multiplying around the country by franchising.

Sam saw an opportunity…so he purchased the rights to Cincinnati’s market in 2007, and over the next three years expanded into Columbus and Dayton.

RPM Midwest, LLC is now the regions largest residential-focused property management company roughly 30 employees, 2,000 doors under management (and still growing), and a plethora of real estate related services.
